Subject: NCAA anti-Confederate activities Background
OPERATION FOURTH & GOAL is off to a great start. Our initial press conference ran in news outlets all over the country on television, radio and major dailies as well as Sports Illustrated and ESPN's websites.
Then, last weekend, our lapel sticker campaign reached thousands at some major college football games in the South. The stickers directed people to our new website, NCAAinterference.org, so they could get information and sign an online petition.

Now, the ground war begins.
Here's what we need to do. We need to generate a TON of letters (letters are more effective than e-mail) to the following people:

Commissioner Robert C. Vowels, Jr.
A.G. Gaston Building
1527 Fifth Avenue, North
Birmingham, AL 35204
 National Collegiate Athletic Association
Attention: Dr. Myles Brand, President
700 W. Washington Street
P.O. Box 6222
Indianapolis, Indiana 46206-6222

Commissioner Vowels is chairman of the NCAA's Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee which is the main point of contact for the NCAA's anti-Southern position. This committee will recommend whether to continue, cease, or expand the current boycott.  Dr. Brand is the president of the NCAA.  They should both hear from us.

Talking Points

1.The NCAA's actions are inconsistent with their non-profit status: South Carolina subjected the issue of the Confederate battle flag to the legislative process and Mississippi subjected the issue of their state flag to the voters in a referendum; the NCAA is practicing economic blackmail in order to achieve a political solution they desire.

2.If the NCAA continues this practice it must certainly result on similar bans in other states (like Georgia and Alabama), as well as pursuing political correctness in other areas such as trying to overturn recent constitutional amendments prohibiting gay marriage.

3.The NCAA should stop practicing social engineering by attacking Confederate symbols and leave such questions to the political process.

4.The NCAA is being hypocritical by attacking the South Carolina and Mississippi over the issue of the Confederate flag, and ignoring other more important issues.

5.NCAA events mean economic ben efit for the area and national exposure for the state; the policy of the NCAA to deny South Carolina and Mississippi amounts to discrimination

6.South Carolina and Mississippi have large minority populations and, if anything, the NCAA should encourage investment in these states  Further

Action

Additionally, please do the following:

1. Visit NCAAinterference.org and sign the online petition.

2. Write your US House of Representatives member and encourage him to keep the investigation of the NCAA's non-profit status in play. This is the duty of the Ways & Means Committee, but other congressmen could bring up the issue with colleagues on that committee. The recent change of political control in the House could cause this issue to be dropped.

3. For Mississippi and South Carolina residents, contact your state legislators to encourage them to stand up to the economic blackmail of the NCAA.

4. Write the Attorneys General in South Carolina (Henry McMaster) and Mississippi (Jim Hood) and encourage them to use the power and influence of their offices to resist the abuses of the NCAA.

National Treasure Still Needs Our Help!!

Beauvoir, the final home of President Jefferson Davis, was almost completely destroyed by Katrina. Many of the out buildings including the museum were leveled. Thanks to nearly 1000 volunteers, 80% of the relics and artifacts were recovered and are now being restored. Albert & Associates, an architectural firm specializing in restoring antebellum structures has taken on the task to return Beauvoir to her original beauty. This will take several years and enormous funding. Please factor in a donation in your camp’s budget and encourage all compatriots to give so this treasure isn’t lost. Contributions are totally tax  deductible and memorials are published in their quarterly newsletter.

A Real South Carolina Jewel!

‘Red Doe Plantation’ was built in 1832 by Evander Gregg on land captured from Fanning, the Tory, by Andrew Hunter, the famous scout of Francis Marion. The plantation house including several out buildings has a rich history in the War for Southern Independence. The descendents of the original owner have given this plantation to the Sons of Confederate Veterans specifically the Pee Dee Rifles Camp with the only stipulation that a monument to their Confederate Heritage be placed on the grounds. Although restorations are underway, it will eventually house the Confederate Museum and be available upon request to all SC Camps for meetings and events. How this venture is handled now may influence future families and estates to donate historic structures and property to other camps throughout the state. When you here the call for help on work details, make preparations to assist or help financially. For further information contact:

Our Voice is Being Heard!

From a press conference held in miserable weather on November 23 at the Confederate monument at the State House by SC Commander Randy Burbage and Commander –in –Chief Chris Sullivan, the Associated Press picked up our call to end the boycott and our challenge to the NCAA on their discriminatory sanctions. News media coast to coast published this story and gave us the positive exposure that we couldn’t have even bought.

The truth will eventually be heard and the righteous will prevail! A special thanks to Don Gordon for making all the arrangements and you can view some of the publications at:

Heritage Alert!

Tennessee State University at Murfreesboro has a US Army ROTC building named after Confederate General Nathan Bedford Forrest. A group of  ‘Politically In-Correct’ individuals are currently attempting to have the name of the building changed because of its ties to the Confederacy. A cry for support has been issued by our brothers in the AOT to respond to this attempted heritage violation. You are asked to write and express your concerns in this attempt to stifle the heritage of your forefathers to :

Charge to the Sons of Confederate Veterans:
"To you, Sons of Confederate Veterans, we submit the vindication of the Cause for which we fought; to your strength will be given the defense of the Confederate soldier's good name, the guardianship of his history, the emulation of his virtues, the perpetuation of those principles he loved and which made him glorious and which you also cherish. Remember, it is your duty to see that the true history of the South is presented to future generations."
